Martin & Co. is an American acoustic guitar maker founded in New York in 1833 by German immigrant Christian Frederick Martin, moving to Nazareth, Pennsylvania in 1839, where the company remains family-owned and operated. Martin originated the X-bracing pattern and the dreadnought body shape that define modern flat-top steel-string design, and its current lineup spans the Standard Series, Modern Deluxe Series, Road Series, X Series, Little Martin/Backpacker travel instruments, and one-off Custom Shop builds.
